2. How to book and pay for your tour?

For booking a tour click on the button ‘book now’ and a new page will appear on your screen with all the existing tours and dates. Select your desired tour and date, how many of you will join and press ‘add to cart’ button. As you filled out the boxes with your personal details and payment information click on the button ‘submit’ and you will get automatically a confirmation mail from our booking system. It is not possible to book a tour without payment.

3. Where does the tour start and end?

You will be picked-up at Scandic Ishavshotel. Afterwards we could drop you off there or any other main hotels in the city center.

Private tours: We pick you up and drop you off at your desired place.

4. Are the tours suitable for everyone?

The tours include shorter walks. No special fitness skills are required but considering the different weather conditions bring warm clothes with you. Most of the tours are usually suitable for children. Northern Light tours only from age 4 except for private tours . If you have any disability please message us in advance to see if we can arrange a tour for you. Collapsible wheelchair is possible on a private tour.

5. How is the weather in Tromsø?

Tromsø lies above the Arctic Circle, but the climate is accordingly mild because of the Golf Stream. The coldest period lasts from December to March with average temperatures of around -6°C. That means it is often warmer but can also be much colder than that. The warmest month is July but it rarely gets warmer than 15°C. However, there are quite warm and sunny days with t-shirt weather. But just in case, dress warm and windproof!

6. What kind of clothing do you recommend to bring?

Winter: Wrap yourself up well – it’s better to bring too much than too little. We recommend layered clothing like an onion and a warm (merino) woolen pair of leggings under your trousers, a sweater, a fleece jacket, and more layers according to the temperature. The outermost layer should be windproof. Remember to bring hat, scarf and gloves, preferably mittens. Warm woolen socks and good water resistant boots. You’ll find more information here. We can provide you with clothing on request.


Summer: Summer can be cool and windy too so bring warm and windproof cloths.

7. Is lunch included in the price of the Fjordtour?

Yes, a proper lunch with hot beverage is included. Vegetarian and vegan options are available, but please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements (on the booking form).

8. Are there also individual, shorter or private tours on offer?

Yes, on request.

9. Kids on tour?

Most of the tours are usually suitable for children. 

For a regularly Northern Light tour we require a min. age of 4. 

The Fjord tour can be possible for younger children but please let us know in advance of their age and needs. 

On private tours there is no age limit as we only focus on your family and your needs. 

In any case let us know the state age, weight and height of the child and we will provide the right car seat.

10. Cancellation policy

– A full refund is provided for cancellations made
more than 14 days prior to the arrival date/tour date

– 50% of the total amount is refunded for cancellations
made 3-14 days prior to the arrival date/tour date

– No refund is provided for cancellations made less
than 3 days prior to the arrival date/tour date

Cruiseguests: If you can`t do the tour because of Covid19 restrictions of your cruise, 100% refund until arrival date.

– 14-3 Tage vor Tour: 50% zurück
– Weniger als 3 Tage keine Erstattung.
Kreuzfahrtgäste: Muss die Tour ausfallen wegen Corona verursachter Verhinderung eines Kreuzfahrtschiffes gibt es 100% Rückerstattung der bereits gezahlten Beträge.
